2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI
Subaru WRX STI (2004-2014) brake pad refresh
The Brembo-caliper STI takes its own pads — front and rear sets verified across the full 2004-2014 run, and the standard WRX pads do not fit.
Who this is for
Every USDM Impreza WRX STI from 2004 through 2014 — the entire GD and GR/GV run. The STI shipped with Brembo four-piston front and two-piston rear calipers as standard equipment for all of those years, and both of our sources agree on the same front and rear pad shapes across the full span.
What you need
One front set (0.585" thickness — the shape shared by most four-piston Brembo street cars: Evo, Genesis Coupe Track, Shelby GT500 fronts all use it) and one rear set (0.560"). Each set covers both wheels of one axle.
The trap this guide exists to prevent
Standard WRX pads do not fit an STI. The WRX uses two-piston sliding calipers; the STI's Brembos take a completely different pad. One of our sources actually lists the standard WRX pads as fitting 2008-2012 STIs — the other does not, and because they disagree, this site refuses to show that combination. That refusal is the product working as designed: if you own an STI, the two parts below are the ones both sources independently verified.
Why you can trust this list
Each part page shows the exact catalog line and retailer table row that back its fitment, with dates and links, under "How we know". Coverage is verified year-by-year — not extrapolated from "it's probably the same as last year".
