2013 Volkswagen GTI

VW GTI (MK6, 2010-2014) brake pad refresh

Front and rear pads verified across the MK6 GTI run — with the one launch-year exception (2010 rears) called out instead of papered over.

Who this is for

MK6 GTIs — 2011 through 2014 for the exact pair below, and 2010 fronts too. Both of our sources agree on the front pad for every year of the run, and on the rear pad from 2011 on. The front shape is the workhorse of the VW/Audi world: the same pad fits GTI, GLI, Golf R fronts on paper — but buy by your own car's verified list, not by folklore.

The 2010 exception

The launch-year GTI takes a different rear pad: both sources put the 260mm-rotor rear pad (a 0.628" part, HB544Z.628) on the 2010 car, and the 0.609" pad below on 2011-2014. If yours is a 2010, pick it as your car in the Builder and it will show the right rear instead. This split is exactly why this site verifies year-by-year instead of stamping "2010-2014" across everything.

A note on the rear pad's compound

The rear set below is Hawk's HPS compound (ferro-carbon) rather than the ceramic used up front — the retailer stocks this shape in HPS only. The shape is the shape: compound changes feel and dust, never fitment. If you want matched compounds front and rear, that's a preference call, not a fitment one.

Why you can trust this list

Each part page carries the verbatim catalog line and retailer table row behind its fitment — dates, links, and all — under "How we know". Where the sources disagreed (and on this platform they genuinely did, about which rear pad fits 2011-2013 GTIs), the disputed combination is withheld entirely rather than guessed at.
